February Public Meeting
For our public meeting this month we welcome guest speaker David Bryant to give a talk called:
“Meteorites and Extinctions”
Every year thousands of tons of rock and iron meteorites crash down onto the Earth! Where are they from, and what do they tell us about the formation of the Solar System? On several occasions, catastrophic asteroid or cometary impacts have nearly destroyed all life on Earth. When did these events occur? Will it happen again?
David Bryant, is one of the leading dealers and expert on meteorites and impactites, having found his first meteorite when he was 8 years old – spurring his lifelong interest in “space rocks”.
The public meeting takes place at the Henry Dixon Hall, Rivenhall End on Wednesday 17th February at 7:30pm. For further details see the Events page.
