July Public Meeting – Producing The Sky At Night
Pieter Morpurgo was the producer of the BBC’s Sky At Night programme for 20 years during the 80s and 90s, producing over 200 episodes of the famous show presented by Sir Patrick Moore. He worked at the BBC for 30 years, also producing and directing programmes such as Panorama, Watchdog, Crimewatch and Children in Need.
Morpurgo and Moore worked successfully in creating an informative programme about astronomy for public education in an imaginative way.
His talk will be based upon the making of the Sky At Night, which is now in its 53rd year of production, and how the programme was produced, giving insight into how the show was put together.
The public meeting takes place at the Henry Dixon Hall, Rivenhall End on Wednesday 21st July at 7:30pm. For more details see the Events page.
