Solar Observing on Bank Holiday Monday #stargazing

Why not join us on Monday 29th August at the Great Notley Discovery Centre and Country Park for a spot of solar observing…

Starting at around midday, we’ll have several telescopes set up and we’ll be letting people look at the Sun. It’s completely safe as we’ll be using special solar filters – hopefully you’ll get to see sunspots and solar prominences. You can even try taking your very own solar astro-image through a telescope with your camera or mobile phone.

Everyone is welcome – it is free to use the telescopes – just come along to the Discovery Centre and see the Sun!

(This is, of course, all weather permitting – if the weather is cloudy and we cannot see the Sun, we might have to call it off. We will try to update this page if that happens.)

For more information about our stargazing events in 2011 and how to get to Great Notley Discovery Centre, see the Notley Stargazing page.
